Ten years from now who will I be
And what things might I wish to say
If I could visit present me
With wisdom for the coming day
Would I come back and say to me
“Well done young man, now stay your course”
Or would I say “look here and see
The life you’re living is a farce”
I think, perhaps, it’s plain to see
What faults I have – my good points too!
I do not need a future me
To come and tell me what to do
So while I’m still the present me
I must live how I wish to be!
