This poem is about something else entirely

Mountain trees that stand too tall
might be the very first to fall
when tons of snow come roaring down
from high up in the mountain’s crown

for standing ‘gainst that wave of white
is certainly a foolish fight
the trees that bend and touch the ground
are those that last another round

the avalanche though not too long
cares not if you are ‘right’ or ‘wrong’
and those that choose to stand, oppose
are hardest hit by its hard blows

I don’t think that I need say more
for this is just a metaphor

  1. This rings true, but unfortunately I have an aversion to bending or bowing – it could be the arthritis (metaphorically speaking)…
