Moonlight

a thin sliver of moonlight

suspended between the branches

ethereal, surreal, barely there

she waits…arms open

in greeting.  waiting on moonlight

suspended on moonlight

her patience rewarded

a guest has arrived

arrived on moonlight

captured on moonlight

her arms open

in greeting, she embraces her guest

in the moonlight

she robes her guest in moonlight

she will eat well tonight

~~

a very short poetic story for dVerse.  Inspired by spiders and their webs.

Wasn’t sure if I’d have a poem to share for the story prompt.  I thought my muse had gone on strike, but she finally returned…on 8 legs.
